German Triathlon Festival in Abu Dhabi – Steinhauser beaten

To kick off the triathlon season, the World Triathlon Championship Series was held in Abu Dhabi – with South Tyrolean participation.

It was the first stop in this important, season-long race series, which will be held all over the world in the coming months. A South Tyrolean was also there: Verena Steinhauser. The Brixen native finished 57th with a time of 23:34 minutes.

The German athletes made a big impression at the front. Lisa Tertsch led a German triple victory with a time of 54:29 minutes. Next to her on the podium were Nina Eim (54:30) and Laura Lindemann (54:31).

The trio entered the finish line together, having previously left Leonie Périault from France behind. In the sprint to the finish, Tertsch narrowly beat her teammates.
