Triathlon World Championships: Steinhauser not in the top field

There was a French double victory at the Triathlon World Championships in Hamburg on Saturday. Verena Steinhauser, however, did not make it into the top group.

Leonie Periault ahead of Cassandre Beaugrand – this is the winning duo in the women's elite competition at the Triathlon World Championships in Hamburg. The two French women took home gold and silver, followed by Beth Potter of Great Britain.

Verena Steinhauser crossed the finish line about one and a half minutes behind the winner. The South Tyrolean ultimately placed 38th. The best Azzurra was Bianca Seregni (26th).

In the men’s competition, the victory went to Australian Matthew Hauser, followed by Vasco Vilaca (Portugal) and Italian Alessio Crociani.
