Verena Steinhauser narrowly missed a podium finish at the Triathlon World Cup in Saidia, Morocco.

The Brixen native finished fourth over the weekend. Steinhauser only ran out of steam a bit in the 10 km race. Diana Isakova (Russia) secured the win, ahead of Danielle Orie (USA) and Ilaria Zane (Italy).

Before the 10 km run, the athletes competed in a 1,5 km swim and a 38,7 km bike ride. In the men's race, Briton Oliver Conway won ahead of Canadian Tyler Mislawchuk. Steinhauser will compete in the next World Championship race on July 12 in Hamburg.
