A world champion and a youngster

At 26 years old, Bolzano world champion Simone Giannelli has long been a regular in Italy's highest volleyball league (SuperLega). 19-year-old Martin Berger from Montal, however, is breaking new ground. The championship begins for both South Tyroleans on Sunday.

An “old hand” and an “offspring” will start in Italy’s highest volleyball league on October 2nd. World champion Simone Giannelli is supposed to lead Perugia to the championship title. Martin Berger, on the other hand, is learning at Itas Trient and should be a regular player in 2 or 3 years.
