The SV Kaltern Windsurfing-Stuffer athlete finished eleventh overall after 19 qualifying runs, narrowly missing out on the top ten.
The Portuguese Algarve region enjoyed fantastic conditions throughout the entire race week, with strong winds at the beginning and lighter breezes on the following days. Throughout the event, every format was contested in IQ foil: Course Race, Sprint Slalom, and Upwind Sprint. This ensured that not only the fastest but also the most complete sailors finished ahead across all conditions. Oprandi achieved several good results, including third and fourth place, before finishing in eleventh place.
The South Tyrolean was the second-best Azzurra behind tenth-placed Sofia Renna. The World Championship title went to New Zealander Stella Bilger.
"I left a few too many points behind on the first day; I was too cautious. I had a lot of good races on the remaining days, so I could have done a bit better," said Oprandi. Her next season highlights: the Italian Championship and the European Championship in Sicily.
