Tania Cagnotto is Europe's diver of the year

The year 2015, which has just ended, was an extremely successful one for the Bolzano native. At the European Championships in Rostock in June, Tania Cagnotto won three gold medals (3m board, 3m synchronized and 1m board), and six weeks later she was crowned world champion in the 1m board for the first time in Kazan, Russia also won bronze twice; from the 3 m bed and in mixed jumping from the 3 m board with her Bolzano teammate Maicol Verzotto. Cagnotto prevailed with 80 percent of the votes cast. The men's award was won by British high diver Tom Daley. The LEN also presented the awards in the categories of swimming to Hungarians Laszlo Cseh and Katinka Hosszu, long-distance swimming (Ferry Weertman/NED and Aurelie Muller/FRA), synchronized swimming (Svetlana Romashina/RUS) and water polo (Dusko Pijetlovic/SRB and Roberta Bianconi/ ITA).

Tania Cagnotto is Europe's diver of the year

The 30-year-old from Bolzano was voted Europe's diver of the year by the European Swimming Federation LEN for the fifth time in a row and for the sixth time since 2009. Only in 2008 (Julia Pachalina) and 2010 (Christin Steuer) was Cagnotto unable to win this title.
