Silver for Lars Senoner in the team race

Great success for Lars Aaron Senoner at the Canoe Slalom Junior European Championships in Solkan: Together with Dennis Fina and Riccardo Pontarollo, the Merano native won the silver medal for Italy in the junior C1 team race.

The victory was the result of a tactically perfectly coordinated run without any penalty seconds. The young Italian team sought a steady rhythm in the early stages before showing off their full talent in the technically demanding sections. Lars Senoner, who started the race as the last rider, delivered a brilliant final sprint and gained crucial tenths of a second in the final stages.

With a time of 99,56 seconds, Italy finished second behind France, leaving established nations like Germany, Spain, and the Czech Republic far behind. Particularly noteworthy is that the young Italian C1 team is still one of the less experienced teams internationally – but will remain eligible to compete together in the U18 category next year.

Senoner also delivered a strong performance in the individual competition. With a flawless run in 91,99 seconds, he finished 12th and comfortably qualified for the semifinals on Saturday. "Lars has shown that a place in the final is absolutely within reach – now it's time to go all out in the semifinals," said coach Stefan Senoner.
On Friday, the semi-finals and finals of the K1 juniors with Annika Zoe Senoner and Sara Furlan are on the program.
