Curiosity: 12-year-old finishes fourth again

Yu Zidi, just twelve years old, narrowly missed out on a medal again on Thursday, finishing fourth at the World Swimming Championships in Singapore.

The Chinese athlete missed the bronze medal in the 200m butterfly by 31 hundredths of a second. The victory went to 2-year-old Canadian Summer McIntosh in a dominant time of 01,99:18 minutes, her third time at these championships.

The men's 200m individual medley was won by Frenchman Léon Marchand in a commanding time of 1:53,68, well above his world record (1:52,69) set in Wednesday's semifinal, but again faster than Ryan Lochte's previous record in 2011.
