The athletes of SSV Bozen are in impressive form

SSV Bozen shines at the national championship

The SSV Bozen Swim Team impressively demonstrated its class at the national championships in mid-March.

With 52 first-place finishes in the Ragazzi, Junior, and Cadetti categories, as well as 20 gold medals in the Assoluti category, the club clearly outpaced the competition. Numerous podium finishes and new records generated excitement – ​​especially the outstanding performances of Luca Scampicchio.



New records by Luca Scampicchio
The exceptional athlete set two new records:
•Regional record for 50m backstroke in 24,41 seconds (previously 24,46 seconds, set on March 16, 2024).
•State record for the 50m butterfly in 23,65 seconds (previously 23,79 seconds, set on April 8, 2024). He also set new records in the U20 and U18 age groups.
Strong team performance

All SSV Bozen relay teams made it to the podium in all categories. The U14 girls narrowly missed breaking a seven-year-old regional record in the 4 x 100 m medley, missing the best time by just 0,12 seconds.


Record participation in the Italian Championship

Ten athletes from SSV Bozen have qualified for the upcoming Italian Championships in Riccione (March 28 – April 2) – a new club record and the highest number of qualified athletes in South Tyrol. All participants swam among the top 30 in Italy in individual races:
•Biagini Marta Alodia: 50 freestyle (28.03), 100 freestyle (1:00.85) and possibly 200 freestyle.
•Zamboni Chandra: 100 breaststroke (1:14.42), 400 individual medley (5:11.89).
•Pertoll Nicole: 100 backstroke (1:05.78).
•Fränzl Lilly: 50 breast (33.09).
•Scampicchio Luca: Qualified for 9 races, 6 of which may be swum – 50 butterfly (23.65), 100 butterfly (52.98), 50 freestyle (22.10), 100 freestyle (48.94), 50 backstroke (24.41), 200 individual medley (2:01.03).
•Bevilacqua Patrick: Qualified for 9 races, 6 of which may be swum – 50 butterfly (25.25), 100 butterfly (55.35), 50 backstroke (25.46), 100 backstroke (55.84), 200 backstroke (2:02.89), 100 freestyle (50.99).
•Walzl Alexander: 100 backstroke (56.76), 200 backstroke (2:04.44), 100 freestyle (52.43).
•Pitone Jacopo: 100 breast (1:04.69).
•Vecci Alessandro: 100 breaststroke (1:07.58), 200 breaststroke (2:31.04).
•Basara Mykhailo: 50 breast (28.00), 100 breast (1:01.69).

Further highlights of the season

The Italian Championships will be followed by the Regional Championships in Trento (April 5–6). Sabrina Weger, Luca Scampicchio, and Patrick Bevilacqua will then compete in the Italian General Class Championships in Riccione (April 13–17). As second-year juniors, Luca and Patrick will be particularly focused on qualifying for the Euro Junior Championships.
