The baby is here! Laura Letrari is a mom for the first time

Sweet baby news from Laura Letrari: South Tyrol's former swimming star gave birth to a baby boy this Tuesday. A big wish has come true.

“We are extremely excited about everything that awaits us in the coming months and years,” Letrari said in May when she announced her pregnancy with SportNews made public. Now the baby is here.

Letrari ended her active career a good three years ago. For two decades, she was not only the best swimmer in South Tyrol, but one of the most successful in all of Italy. Letrari won three bronze medals at the European Short Course Championships, an impressive 14 Italian championship titles, and participated in the 2012 London Olympics as a relay swimmer. She also won three gold medals at the Mediterranean Games.
