Mals wins the U17 Italian championship title

The U17 Italian Badminton Team Championships took place in Milan last weekend.

Teams from South Tyrol, including SSV Bozen, ASV Überetsch, and ASV Mals, participated. Italy's best U17 players competed against each other as a team. To win, a team had to be well-positioned – both in the men's and women's competitions.

In the semifinals, the Mals team defeated the team from Sardinia 3-0. The second semifinal match was between ASV Überetsch and BC Milan, with the Überetsch team losing 3-0 after a close game – otherwise, the final would have been a South Tyrolean one.

Thus, Überetsch played against Sardinia for third place, and this time the badminton players from South Tyrol prevailed 3-0. In the final, ASV Mals faced the home team BC Milan. The Val Venosta team showed their class, defeating the Lombardy team 3-1. Thus, ASV Mals won the U17 Italian championship for the first time.
