Georg Righi shines in the Acquarena

The 36-year-old from Passiria swept an incredible 654 pins off the lane in the Acquarena in Brixen, setting a new individual lane record. Righi hit 412 woods during the game and cleared 242 pins. Together with his teammates, he celebrated an easy 8-0 victory (3590:3278) against promoted team Prichsna. In the five championship games so far, Neumarkt has only had to give up two team points from a direct duel. That's impressive.

In the pursuit duel between Fugger Vipiteno and Passeier, the Wipptalers retained the upper hand. Vipiteno, driven by the strong Thomas Weiskopf with 612 pins, prevailed 6:2 (3535:3396) and overtook Passeier in the ranking. Sterzing is now in third place, one position behind St. Georgen, which shared the points in the duel with Kurtatsch at 4:4 in the “Bar Alping” (3398:3390). Andreas Bodner (613) played well in the ranks of St. Georgen, while Karlheinz Goldner (610) and Arnold Peer (605) impressed at Kurtatsch.

However, there was a 7-1 derby win for Sarnthein in Jenesien on the fifth matchday (3451:3347). In this game, the two Kröss brothers Hannes (609) and Daniel (606) were able to break the magical 600-pin mark. Schnals scored important points in the relegation battle, winning at home against Aldein 6:2 (3288:3225). It was the second win in a row for the promoted team. The best man of the game was Klaus Rainer (Schnals) with 576 woods.

The first win of the current season was for Lana, which was the last A1 team to register. The Etschtaler defeated Burggräfler 5:3 (3306:3271) and were able to rely on their captain Reinhard Obergasteiger, who scored 585 pins.

Women: Vipiteno still has a flawless record

Five games, five wins – that is the result of the Fugger Vipiteno bowlers so far. And there is another constant: In the 4-2 away win in Klausen against Los Birillos, Enikö Tòt (with 590 bowls) was again the best player of the game, for the fifth time in a row. That's a record.

There were also experiences of success for almost all of the Wipptaler women's pursuers. Vöran Blecherne won at home against Meran 6:0, Burggräfler also defeated Villnöß 4:2 in front of their own audience and Tirol Mutspitz celebrated away at Pfeffersberg (5:1). Only Deutschnofen made a half-misstep against newly promoted Kiens, as after the last ball played the score was 3-3. The second promoted team Passeier celebrated an important victory with a view to staying in the league, 5-1 against Ratschings.
