The Sterzing winner wins the Tour of the Alps

The winner of the Tour of the Alps is Michael Storer. The 28-year-old Australian (Tudor) overtook Dutchman Thymen Arensman on Friday's final stage.

The final section around Lienz was only 112 kilometers long in total. Storer still managed to outpace Arensman (Ineos) in eighth place on the day by 1:44 minutes. Before the final stage, Storer's deficit to the Dutchman was only eleven seconds. The Australian had won the second stage, which ended in Sterzing, with a solo run.

The Decathlon riders, Nicolas Preudhomme and Paul Seixas, finished first and second, respectively, at 2.58:54:1. Storer crossed the finish line 20:4 minutes later, while Arensman lost over two and a half minutes to the stage winners. Canadian Derek Gee finished third overall, while Giulio Ciccone was the best Azzurro rider in fourth place. The good friend of Jannik Sinner had won the first stage but gradually lost time thereafter.
