The 30-year-old sprinter posted a lengthy message on Instagram, thanking his teammates and explaining his decision. Ewan joined his new team, Ineos Grenadiers, at the end of January and immediately won two races: the Tour of the Basque Country and the Settimana Coppi e Bartali.
Despite the victories, Ewan is now hanging up his cycling shoes: "The truth is, even when I crossed the line first, the feeling that everyone strives for passed quicker than before," he explained his decision.

"The last few years haven't been easy for me," wrote the Australian. "But in 2025, I've rediscovered something—not just my form, but also my faith—thanks to Team Ineos Grenadiers. I can't thank them enough for that."
“My relationship with this sport is significantly damaged” Caleb ewan
Ewan celebrated a total of eleven stage wins in his career at the Tour de France, the Giro d'Italia, and the Vuelta. After that, however, things started to falter. "My last two seasons, especially the second half of 2024, have significantly damaged my relationship with this sport," the Australian remains vague. Apparently, however, the damage is so great that he is now willing to step away from racing for good.
