Equestrian Days Wiesen set new standards

With a fantastic field of participants, sporting highlights, and enthusiastic visitors, the Wiesen Equestrian Days concluded on July 13, 2025. Under the motto "Jumping in the Alps," the traditional tournament celebrated an impressive premiere in its new 10-day format and once again confirmed its status as the most important equestrian event in the Trentino-South Tyrol region.

"These ten days were an organizational challenge, but also a complete success. The atmosphere was sporty, fair, and friendly; exactly what Wiesen stands for," summarizes Jakob Hochrainer, director of the Wiesen Equestrian Days.

The sporting highlight took place on Sunday, July 13, with the Grand Prix of South Tyrol, which was held at a height of 145 cm. Filippo Gasca Queirazza from Lana secured victory on Salto 77, ahead of Riccardo Andreis with Antares du Castel and Elena Chiarotti on Myrco. Queirazza expressed his enthusiasm after the tournament: "This tournament is a fixture in my calendar every year. The commitment of the Hochrainer family has elevated this event to a new level. Nestled in the mountains, at almost 1.000 meters, we not only find perfect conditions for the sport, but also an environment where riders simply feel at home."

New concept

With the new concept of three show jumping competitions within ten days, competitions from 40cm to 145cm, over 1.000 starts and two Grand Prixs on Sundays, the success story of the equestrian sports days was noticeably continued.

In addition to top-class sporting talent, the organizers also consciously focused on promoting young talent in 2025. Numerous young talents took advantage of the opportunity to prove themselves in well-attended competitions in front of a large audience. The mix of beginner classes, youth competitions, and professional competitions ensured a lively and cross-generational tournament experience. The organizing Wiesen Riding Club was also delighted with the remarkable successes of its club members.

A key component of the success was once again the modern Wiesenhof Equestrian Center. Equipped with high-quality riding surfaces, the facility offered optimal conditions for horses, riders, and spectators. The combination of professional infrastructure, fresh mountain air, and South Tyrolean hospitality impressed guests and participants alike. With around 1.000 starts and several thousand visitors, not only was a new participant record set, but the importance of equestrian sports in South Tyrol was also impressively underscored. The Wiesen Equestrian Days 2025 demonstrated that the blend of sport, landscape, and passion works – and sets standards for future editions.
