The smile on the podium spoke volumes. Aaron Durogati held the trophy aloft, beaming from ear to ear. The Merano native had finally reached the goal of his dreams. Last Sunday, the Merano native became the first athlete to cross the finish line at the 2025 Red Bull X-Alps – and his landing on the floating raft in Zell am See was also historic. Before the South Tyrolean, only Swiss athletes had ever topped the podium; most recently, Chrigel Maurer won the extraordinary competition eight times in a row.
After an adventure spanning seven days and eight hours, Durogati celebrated his victory, followed about an hour behind by Swiss Lars Meerstetter and Austrian Simon Oberrauner. The trio was duly celebrated at the awards ceremony on Friday.
Durogati doesn't take a break
Durogati didn't slow down after his triumph at the Red Bull X-Alps. The next competition in Veneto took place on Saturday, where the South Tyrolean wanted to show off his best side – and he did. Durogati also snatched victory at the La Velenosa Hike & Fly.Edit Profile
