Milan were already 0-2 down, but a header from Marko Arnautovic shortly before half-time started the comeback (45.+1). The Austrian international striker scored from close range after a header from Denzel Dumfries. It was his fifth competitive goal this season, his second in the league. The goal finally released some energy at Inter, which ultimately led to a 3-2 victory over Monza.
In the middle of a period of pressure from the home team, Hakan Calhanoglu rewarded the favorites with a wonderful full-power shot from the edge of the penalty area into the bottom left corner (64th minute). 13 minutes later, Lautaro Martínez completed Inter's comeback with a powerful header that goalkeeper Stefano Turati only "parried" behind the goal line. The victory put the defending champions ahead for the time being and they are now four points ahead of their pursuers SSC Napoli. The southern Italians will face Fiorentina at home on Sunday from 15.00 p.m. Juventus will host Atalanta on Sunday evening in a top match in the battle for third place.
