A new coaching face in Serie A.

Inter legend becomes new Parma coach

Just on Monday, Parma sacked its promotion coach Fabio Pecchia. Now his prominent successor has been announced.

Cristian Chivu is the new Parma coach. The 44-year-old Romanian has signed a contract with the 18th-placed team in Serie A until summer 2026. Chivu's previous coaching experience has been exclusively in the youth sector. For six years he managed various youth teams at Inter, most recently the U19s.

The former defender played in Serie A for AS Roma and Inter. With Milan, Chivu won the treble under Jose Mourinho in 2010. Now he is supposed to save Parma from relegation.
