Robin Gosens stays in Florence

After a one-year loan, Robin Gosens will reportedly move permanently from Bundesliga club 1. FC Union Berlin to Fiorentina in the summer.

As Kicker reports, the traditional Italian club's purchase option has become an obligation after the 30-year-old has played 60 percent of his possible competitive matches. Accordingly, Fiorentina will transfer €7,5 million to Union.

There has been no official announcement from either the Berlin club or the Tuscan club. In recent days, reports had already surfaced in Italy that Gosens's permanent transfer was imminent. Gosens moved from Inter to Köpenick in 2023 for an estimated €15 million, making him the Irons' record transfer. However, the full-back wasn't particularly happy in Berlin.

In Florence, he has established himself as a key player, scoring six goals and providing nine assists in 39 competitive matches. He has also reached the semifinals of the Conference League with the club. The return match against Real Betis is scheduled for Thursday.
