Roma put Como in its place

The 15th matchday of Serie A was rounded off on Monday evening with a home win for AS Roma against Como.

Roma secured a deserved 1-0 victory against Como at their home ground, the Stadio Olimpico. The decisive goal came from Brazilian Wesley, who fired a low shot into the net after an hour of play. The winger had been set up by Matias Soule, who cleverly flicked the ball onto the end of the pitch.

Roma remain in fourth place – just three points behind league leaders Inter. Their lead over fifth-placed Juventus is four points. Meanwhile, the surprise team from Como sits in seventh. Cesc Fabregas' talented and up-and-coming squad recently suffered a 4-0 away defeat against Inter.

While Gian Piero Gasperini finally seems to be bringing order to Roma, things are in complete disarray in Florence: Following the bitter home defeat against Hellas Verona the previous day, Fiorentina held another crisis meeting on Monday. New coach Paolo Vanoli was already under scrutiny. Now, Sunday's home game against Udinese will be his final match against the bottom-of-the-table team.
