Serious injury: De Bruyne out for Napoli

Football star Kevin De Bruyne of Italian champions SSC Napoli suffered a serious injury in the top match against Inter Milan a few days ago.

During an examination in a hospital, the 34-year-old Belgian was diagnosed with a "serious injury to the posterior thigh muscle" in his right leg, Napoli said.

The club from the southern Italian city did not provide any information on how long De Bruyne is expected to be out, but only confirmed that he has already begun his rehabilitation. Italian media suspect he could be out for several months due to the serious injury.

Supported by two supervisors

In Saturday's match against Inter Milan, De Bruyne had to be substituted due to injury in the 37th minute. He scored the opening goal from the penalty spot in the 33rd minute, but sustained a serious injury while taking the shot. He had to be carried to the dressing room, limping, supported by two players. Napoli ultimately won 3-1 (1-0) against Inter.
