Scudetto thriller: Napoli has the match point

There could hardly be a more exciting Scudetto final: SSC Napoli could only manage a draw in Parma on Sunday evening, but they are still in the lead with one game left because Inter also slipped up.

Next Sunday, the big Serie A final will be a showdown for the Scudetto, starting at 15 p.m. Leaders Napoli will host Cagliari at home, while closest rivals Inter will travel to Como. On this Sunday evening, Napoli (0-0 at Parma) and Inter (2-2 at home against Lazio) could only manage a draw. Therefore, the southern Italians remain one point ahead of Milan and still have everything in their own hands.

The final minutes were particularly wild in Parma and at the San Siro Stadium. Inter took the lead twice against Lazio before Lazio's Pedro decisively secured the title race with a penalty just before the final whistle. In stoppage time, Arnautovic's goal was ruled out for offside. Napoli, on the other hand, were initially awarded a penalty in the 90th minute, but it was subsequently overturned by VAR.

Things are looking good for Juventus in the battle for the Champions League spots: The Old Lady showed no signs of weakness in their 2-0 home win against Udinese. Behind them, AS Roma, who beat AC Milan 3-1, are lurking. Newly signed Mexican striker Santiago Gimenez was sent off early in the game. Milan will therefore not be represented in Europe next season.

Relegation battle is coming to a head

In the relegation battle, things are getting very tight for Venezia after a 0-3 defeat at Cagliari. Empoli and Lecce, on the other hand, celebrated important victories, but also have considerable apprehension. Parma and Hellas Verona are also not completely out of the game yet. One thing is certain: next Sunday will be the ultimate showdown – in all regions of the table.
