a Serie B

What does the Serie B of the future look like?

Relegation has been secured, but FC Südtirol still has two matchdays left in Serie B. Qualification for the playoffs is possible. We analyzed the starting position from the top of the table to the relegation battle.

Parma was already promoted on Wednesday. Como could follow suit just 4 days later. With a win on Sunday in Modena, the Fabregas squad could no longer be pushed out of the top two places. Venezia, Cremonese and Catanzaro have long since qualified for the playoffs. This is just about the starting point. Palermo is also practically through with a 6 point lead over FCS and Reggiana.

The situation is different for Sampdoria (7th) and Brescia (8th), who are still being followed by 4 teams. The Genoese can again rely on the services of Unterland's 10-goal man Manuel De Luca. If FC Südtirol wants to get into the playoffs, they almost have to win the two games in Pisa and against Palermo. At the same time, the white-reds are dependent on slip-ups. Modena in the bottom half has practically nothing to do with the relegation battle. But the Bisoli squad could spit Como in the soup on Sunday.

Serie A relegated Spezia still has to fight. The situation looks dramatic for Bari, for example, which almost got promoted to Serie A last year. The cult club from Apulia will probably have to at least play through the playouts in the 16th and 17th this year. Lake Garda club Feralpisaló has almost been relegated and will probably have to go back to Serie C after a year. Lecco has already suffered this fate.

This will be new

The three Series C champions have been fixed for a long time Cesena, Juve Stabia and Mantova (with David Wieser from Gardena). Another promoted team will be chosen in the playoffs. The South Tyroleans Manuel Fiwickeler (Sassari Torres), Emanuele Zuelli and Simone Zanon (both Carrarese) and Lorenzo Sgarbi (Avellino) are also taking part. From Serie A so far Salernitana immediately relegated. But Sassuolo also already has one foot in the second division.
