Bloodless South Tyroleans lose in Cesena

FC Südtirol lost 0-1 in Cesena. It was the 5th defeat in the last 7 games. The white-reds have arrived in the relegation battle.

From the very top (leaders after 2 matchdays) into the relegation battle. FC Südtirol has been on a downward spiral in recent weeks, and after their performance in Cesena, there seems to be no end in sight. The White-Reds were too anemic and had no answer after Cristian Shpendi's winning goal (52'). There would have been enough time to react.

The goal by Shpendi, who is currently the league's top scorer (1 goals) in his first Serie B season, decided the match. Cesena rewarded themselves with 7 points for minimal effort. In goal for the team from Emilia Romagna, a well-known name was Jonathan Klinsmann. The 3-year-old is the son of Bayern icon Jürgen Klinsmann.

The few highlights of the game

Little going onIn the first half, almost nothing happened in Cesena. A long-range shot from Shpendi, which Drago parried well, was the only excitement (1th).
Cesena leadershipThe home team comes out of the dressing room better. A shot from Kargbo goes wide, but then the FCS goal rings. Masiello loses sight of Shpendi, who scores 1-0 for Cesena after a cross (52').
No reactionAfter falling behind, FCS was unable to react. Only an attempt by Kurtic caused some danger, but Klinsmann was able to deflect it for a corner (70'). After that, the Cesena bulwark allowed nothing more and there were no more chances on either side.

At FCS, everyone is now looking ahead to the next few hours with bated breath. Will the management stick with coach Federico Valente? A few days ago, sports director Paolo Bravo criticized the team's lack of mentality. In Cesena, there was no resistance and no reaction after falling behind. FCS is in a play-off spot for the first time this season.
