Nadine Nischler & Co. are about to be promoted to Serie B.

Meran Women before promotion to Serie B

There will probably be a second team in Serie B in South Tyrol in the next football season. However, not for men, but in women's football. After their home win at the weekend, the Meran Women are on the verge of winning the championship.

Will you win promotion in the regional derby? If the Merano women win in Trento next Sunday (15.30:XNUMX p.m.), then the Serie C championship title will be certain. This would mean that Meran would play in Serie B next season.

The Merano women laid the foundation for their championship title in the fall. In the last few weeks, Nadine Nischler & Co. have gradually increased their lead. Meran is now 10 points ahead of Riccione, which is in second place. On the last match day, Meran put SPAL in its place with 2:0. Jana Zipperle (3rd), Anna Katharina Peer (3th) and Nischler (48th) scored the goals.

Defeat for the FCS

However, there was no sense of success for FC Südtirol Women. The white and red women's team suffered a - somewhat surprising - 0-2 defeat away at Jesina. The FCS has slipped to 5th place in the table. Jesina is fighting to avoid having to stay in the league through the playout.
