Brixen is playing cat and mouse, Ridnauntal is facing relegation

SSV Brixen is unstoppable in the domestic national league: The undefeated league leaders celebrated their eighth success in a row on Sunday. At the same time, the air for the Ridnauntal selection in the relegation battle is becoming increasingly thin after a slap. A total of 29 goals were scored in five games on Sunday afternoon.

More dominance is not possible: SSV Brixen achieved their 20th success of the season in a duel with Gitschberg Jochtal on Sunday - and that in only their 24th game. Luca Consalvo & Co. clearly put the 9th place in the table, who had recently achieved three successes in a row, in their place with 5:1. The game got off to a perfect start for the guests when Lukas Hofer took the early lead in the 9th minute. Rene Sanna (17th), Michael Cia (39th) and Luca Consalvo (40th) turned the game on its head before the half-time whistle. After the break, Cia (54th) and Maximilian Schraffl (88th) fixed the final result.

Because the gap to pursuers Bruneck is already 15 points and there are only six match days left, Brixen could win the championship title on the next match day. On Saturday, pursuer Latsch suffered his first defeat of 2024. Alex Kiem's team had to let Bruneck pass, which won 3-1 at home against Voran Leifers on Sunday. Lukas Hochwieser (27th) scored for the Pusterers before Nicolo Oss (53rd) equalized for Voran Leifers. In a hectic final phase, Angelo Morelli first saw a red card, then Stefan Nagler scored from the spot. Fabian Unterhuber finally put the lid on it.

Landmark victory for Val Gardena

The relegation battle for the Ridnauntal selection continues to escalate after the 2-6 defeat at FC Gherdëina. The distance to the safe shore is already ten points. After all: Because the direct opponents Schenna (2:4 against Ahrntal) and Riffian Kuens (1:4 against Weinstrasse Süd) also lost, there is still a minimal chance of keeping the class.

In St. Ulrich, the guests found the right answer after goals from Antonio Violino (30th) and Mattias Rifesser (39th) through Lukas Obex (45th) and Elias Gasser (68th). A little later, Jan Martin Vinatzer hit the mark with his head to make it 3-2 (75th). In the final phase, Val Gardena goalkeeper Lukas Demetz parried a penalty from Obex before things got strange: Christian Jenegger increased the score to 87-4 in the 2th minute, and Mirko Demetz subsequently scored two more penalties within three turns of the pointer.
