Lana pulls the ripcord: change of coach at the bottom

SV Lana got off to a disastrous start to the league season. This now has consequences. The club told SportNews that they wanted to “provide new impetus” by changing the coach.

It's been clear for a few days now, and this Saturday the club made it official: Coach Max Bianchi and assistant coach Christoph Nock are taking over at the bottom of the league. Yesterday, Friday, the separation of coach Andrea Culos and assistant coach Maurizio Desideri became known.

Like the sporting director Stefan Hafner SportNews explained that the change had already been made at the beginning of the week. Bianchi took over training on Tuesday. The club decided that they had to react to the difficult situation. As a reminder: With just one point from 10 games and a goal difference of 5:38, Lana is in last place in the table.

“We need new impulses.” Stefan Hafner, sporting director of SV Lana Football

The separation of Culos, who only took over the helm of Lana's combat team at the beginning of the season, was initiated by the club, but was done by mutual agreement. “We need new impulses. The situation is difficult. Maybe a change of coach will make a difference,” said Hafner. The club hopes “for a new impetus and that the young team learns after the upheaval at the start of the season.”

Hafner doesn't want to talk about the sporting goals, i.e. staying in the league, yet. He knows: This would be presumptuous in the current situation. “At the moment it’s about gaining self-confidence and ensuring that the players develop further,” said the sporting director. You want to “look from game to game”. The defensive behavior in particular was recently seen as an Achilles heel. “We conceded far too many goals,” emphasizes Hafner. After all, they recently scored 3 goals at home against Comano - but that was also not enough with 5 goals conceded. One hopes to show a different face in the home game against St. Pauls next Sunday.
