The SG Südtirol footballers will never forget this day. On Wednesday they won the cup in Vienna's legendary Ernst Happel Stadium.

There have been countless memorable duels at the Ernst Happel Stadium. The arena at Vienna's Prater has already been the location for international matches, Champions League finals and European Championship finals. Every year some amateurs are also allowed to step on this special lawn. The final of the DSG Cup takes place in the Ernst Happel Stadium. This year the SG Südtirol was a guest there.

The SGS, which consists of South Tyrolean students and emigrants, made it to the cup final for the fifth time this year. And yet this time there was one little thing that was different: in the previous four visits to the Ernst Happel Stadium there was never a win for the South Tyroleans, this taboo was broken this year. The local kickers, some of whom also played in the South Tyrolean top and regional leagues, won 1-0. Max Berg scored the gold goal after 64 minutes.

This means that SG Südtirol won the double this year, because coach Ramon Sanson's team was already unbeatable in the championship.
