136 million euros! Wirtz becomes record holder

According to a media report, the transfer of German national football player Florian Wirtz to English champions Liverpool is to be finalized next week.

According to the Liverpool Echo, the 22-year-old from Bayer Leverkusen, who is currently on vacation, is expected to undergo a medical next week. According to "The Athletic," Wirtz is set to receive a five-year contract, with a transfer fee of €117,5 million, plus an additional €18,8 million in bonuses.

Wirtz, who still has a contract with Leverkusen until 2027 and was also heavily pursued by Bayern Munich, will thus become the most expensive transfer of a German footballer. He will also be the most expensive signing in Liverpool's history.
