Luis Díaz scored the fastest goal of the season, Harry Kane set a historic goal-scoring record, and Manuel Neuer celebrated equaling the Bundesliga win record. FC Bayern Munich got into the mood for Sunday's Oktoberfest visit with a commanding 3-0 (2-0) victory at Eintracht Frankfurt and extended their lead in the Bundesliga thanks to a German record of ten wins in their first ten competitive matches.
The impressive Díaz put Bayern on the road to victory in front of 59.500 spectators after just 15 seconds, then scored the final goal in the 84th minute. Kane (27th) added Bayern's third goal. It was the €100 million striker's eleventh goal of the season in just six matches – a Bundesliga record!
Frankfurt only manages a warning shot
Bayern goalkeeper Neuer also celebrated a record. It was his 362nd Bundesliga victory. The 39-year-old thus equaled his long-time teammate Thomas Müller's record. While the immaculate Munich team, with 18 points, has already built up a small cushion over rivals Borussia Dortmund (14), Frankfurt (9 points) are stagnating in the upper midfield.FC Bayern presented Eintracht Frankfurt with many difficulties. © APA/afp / DANIEL ROLAND
The very first attack resulted in success. Shortly after kickoff, Serge Gnabry dribbled unhindered into the penalty area and played the ball to Díaz, who finished at the far post. A short while later, the home side almost had their spirits ruined again when Frankfurt's defensive leader Robin Koch blasted a cross from Michael Olise onto the bar of his own goal. After 14 minutes, Frankfurt even celebrated – albeit too soon. Bahoya fired into the top corner from 16 meters, but Doan had been adjudged to have handled the ball beforehand. Referee Daniel Siebert watched the scene on TV and rightly disallowed the spectacular goal.
Kane and Díaz make everything clear
Bayern responded to the warning shot, tightened their grip, and took full advantage of the next opportunity. Kane had too much space about 20 meters from goal and fired a powerful low shot into the corner. The top English striker almost scored a brace after the break, but hit the post from a tight angle. The champions now controlled the game at will and gave Eintracht no further chances. Instead, Díaz put the finishing touch to a one-sided match with his second goal.
