“The cruelest jersey in the league”: BVB fans angry

Borussia Dortmund's new away jerseys continue to cause discontent among many BVB fans.

"The league's most gruesome jersey" read a banner displayed by traveling fans at the away game against 1. FC Heidenheim. "Borussia stays black and yellow" and "All theory remains gray in life" were read on other posters. Even before kickoff, the fans loudly chanted "We want black and yellow jerseys."

The new away kit, which the eight-time German champions unveiled during the week, celebrated its competitive debut in Heidenheim. It is predominantly a light gray color, with black and neon yellow elements. Many BVB fans apparently have trouble getting used to it. It has already been the subject of numerous negative comments in forums and social media in recent days.

In recent years, the Bundesliga club has almost always worn predominantly black jerseys away from home.
