As every year, especially in the run-up to Christmas, coaching dismissals are a frequent and unwelcome occurrence in football. Our columnist Sigi Heinrich doesn't blame the coaches themselves, but also the management responsible for assembling the often overburdened squads.

A candle is burning. If you're a football coach who's having a rough run, then you know: it's time to go. Contrary to the actual meaning of the word "Advent," which for Christians expresses the preparation for the possible second coming of Jesus.
