The seemingly unbridled transfer frenzy recently landed FC Bayern Munich in a tight spot. Our columnist Sigi Heinrich thinks it's right that the German record champions have remained as sensible as possible and not been influenced by the so-called nouveau riche clubs of the English Premier League.

Our heads are spinning. Numbers are racing through space at the speed of light. 50 million euros today, 100 million tomorrow. The day after tomorrow, 125 million. There seems to be no upper limit on the transfer market for football players.
