Real Madrid wins the Clasico

Real Madrid won the “Clasico” against FC Barcelona 2-1, extending their lead over the second-placed Catalans in the Spanish football league to five points.

Kylian Mbappe (22nd) and Jude Bellingham (43rd) shot the "Royals" to a home win on Sunday, with a goal conceded by Fermin Lopez (38th), and thus also to a small revenge for last season, in which Real had lost all four duels with their arch-rivals.

Bellingham provided the perfect assist for Mbappe's 1-0 goal. The visitors, who were severely depleted and whose Lamine Yamal was unable to shine, equalized with a high ball win from Fermin Lopez. Bellingham only needed to finish from close range to make it 2-1 after a header from Eder Militao.

The Madrid victory could have been even bigger, but Mbappe's penalty was saved by Barca goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny in the 52nd minute. Barcelona midfielder Pedri received a second yellow card for the final whistle. Immediately afterward, and even after the final whistle, there were clashes between the two teams.
