Liverpool's 145 million man will be out for months

Liverpool FC will be without their star striker Alexander Isak for months. He has suffered a serious injury.

The 26-year-old will be sidelined with an ankle injury and a broken fibula, the English Premier League club announced. The attacking midfielder, who joined from Newcastle United for €145 million in the summer, has already undergone surgery.

Isak sustained the injury on Saturday during the 2-1 victory at Tottenham Hotspur. The Swede scored the opening goal, but was injured when he was brought down by Micky van de Ven.

Isak twisted his left foot, lay on the ground visibly in pain, and eventually had to be helped off the pitch by medical staff. The striker had scored three goals for Liverpool in 16 appearances this season.
