Rapid Vienna, coached by Peter Stöger, suffered a deserved 1-0 (1-0) defeat against Universitatea Craiova of Romania on Thursday evening in front of 23.500 spectators in Vienna-Hütteldorf. Oleksandr Romanchuk scored the winning goal for the visitors in the 37th minute. It was the third defeat in three games for the Green-Whites, who now sit at the bottom of the Conference League table.
Rapid's European campaign continues in three weeks with an away match in Poland against Raków. The still-undefeated Polish side already has five points after three rounds. First, however, the Viennese team travels to Innsbruck next Sunday (2:30 pm) to face WSG Tirol.
