HC Gröden is fishing in Cortina again.

Hockey Club Gherdëina continues to work on its squad for the new season and can now announce the completion of the next transfers: Sebastiano Soracreppa extends his contract, Alberto Colli comes from league rival Cortina.

With the addition of the duo, the HCG defense, consisting of Sacha Guimond, Dmitri Vozovik, and Julian Senoner, now comprises five players. "Both are very solid defenders. Soracreppa gives 100 percent in every shift and is further distinguished by his game awareness and intelligence. Colli, on the other hand, is a robust defender who brings experience from the national team. Far from home, he now wants to take the next step in his development," commented Sporting Director Joel Brugnoli.

Soracreppa played exclusively for the Fassa Falcons until the age of 20, quickly becoming a key player. In 2020, he moved to HC Thurgau in the second Swiss league. There, the 26-year-old amassed nearly 200 appearances over four seasons. In the summer of 2024, the defenseman joined the Ritten/Renon Buam, where he recorded an impressive 16 points (6 goals). He then transferred to the Furie. After being hampered by an injury at the beginning of last season, he became a crucial player on their way to a historic championship title in the Alps Hockey League (AlpsHL).

Alberto Colli, the second new signing from Cortina after Massimo Pietroniro, boasts a similar career path. The 23-year-old progressed through all levels of the youth academies at Pieve di Cadore and Cortina before making his AlpsHL debut at the age of 17. He developed into a key player for the U20 national team and also played four international matches for the Azzurri's first team between 2023 and 2025.

Extensive experience

After starting last season with Cortina, he moved to the Kyiv Capitals, who compete in the Latvian first division. The 1,89-meter-tall Colli has played 214 games in the AlpsHL and won two Italian championships and a Super Cup. He will wear number 20 for HCG.
