The new man in the Adler storm: Samuel Claesson

A young Swede strengthens the Merano attack

HC Merano signed its third guest worker on Wednesday. He's an unknown player from Sweden.

The 20-year-old Swede Samuel Claesson is HCM's second foreign player, following Christopher Frederiksen. Canadian Brayden Sherbinin has already been signed for defense. Born in Sollentuna, the tall striker (1,92 meters) initially played in his hometown's youth ranks. He then moved to Västerås, AIK, and later back to Sollentuna, where he made his first-team debut last year.

In his first season in Sweden's third-highest league, the Swede, described as a strong player with good hands and vision, recorded 25 points in 37 games. Now he's moving up to the Alps Hockey League, where he'll play the first U22 import position at HC Meran.

Squad is taking shape

As a reminder, players who fall into this category only account for two points instead of four. Each club has a total of 16 points available for imports. With Sherbinin, Frederiksen, and Claesson, the Eagles now have ten points.
