The Wipptal Broncos have strengthened their roster in the transfer market.

Case Kantgias strengthens the Broncos

After the turn of the year, the Wipptal Broncos made a move on the transfer market and secured the rights of 25-year-old Case Kantgias.

The American learned to play ice hockey in his home country. At 19, Kantgias first decided to move to Canada and played in the CCHL for both the Hawkesbury Hawks and the Navan Grads. In 39 games, the defenseman tallied 10 points (2 goals). Later that same year, the right-handed shot moved to the WSHL to play for the Northern Colorado Eagles, where he recorded an incredible 19 points in 17 games.

Kantgias also played for the Eagles the following season, scoring 52 points in 35 games. Starting in the 2021-22 season, the American moved to NCAA Division III, playing for St. Michael's College. In his debut season, Case tallied 11 goals and 7 assists in 19 games. The following season, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, he scored slightly fewer points (14). In 2023-24 and 2024-25, the defenseman tallied 23 points in 29 games each season, even serving as team captain in the latter.

Case Kantgias is 193 centimeters tall and weighs 95 kilograms. His playing style will provide a physical presence at the back and consistently create scoring opportunities up front.
