From Merano to Asiago: Rudy Rigoni returns home

He was one of the big winners of last season in the Alps Hockey League: Rudy Rigoni. Now the goalie is leaving Merano for the south.

In the summer of 2024, Rudy Rigoni moved from Pergine to Merano, where, after some initial difficulties, he became a major protagonist, leading the Adler to the semifinals of the Alps Hockey League and earning himself his first call-up to the national team.

Rigoni played 52 games for Merano, improving his save percentage from 89,3% to 91,4% in the playoffs. However, when it was confirmed a few weeks ago that Asiago would join the Alps Hockey League, the 22-year-old didn't hesitate to return to his hometown. Now, the Stellati have signed him to a contract for the upcoming season.

Although Meran initially assumed that Rigoni would stay after the end of the season, the Eagles had a quick replacement ready: A week ago, Andy Bernard, a prominent new addition to the HCM goal, was presented.
