Intense hours: Val Gardena loses in Cortina

HC Gröden has had an intense weekend. On Sunday, they managed to secure one point despite their defeat in Cortina.

On Saturday, HC Gröden celebrated a furious 6-3 victory over EC Bregenzerwald. After this goal fest, the Ladin team didn't leave the ice until 10:30 p.m. Just 19 hours later, they were back on the ice in Cortina – and suffered a 3-4 overtime defeat.

Even though it ended in defeat, the Furies can console themselves with a point. And they showed heart. Cortina led for almost the entire game, first 2-0, then 3-1. However, Val Gardena never gave up and, thanks to goals from Hannes Kasslatter, Luke Moncada, and Sacha Guimond, forced overtime. There, Cortina's Oskari Kalajanniska scored the decisive goal on the power play. Val Gardena's Guimond was in the penalty box at the time.
