After Davide Schiavone and Stephan Deluca, two more players who grew up at the Fassa Falcons are moving to the HCG: Sebastiano Soracreppa and Martin Castlunger.
"Soracreppa is a defenseman who skates very well," emphasizes sporting director Joel Brugnoli. "He played in Switzerland for several years and brings experience from higher leagues. He's a great addition to our team. Castlunger, on the other hand, is an all-around forward who excels in both the offensive and defensive zones. He has the necessary grit, plays aggressively, and doesn't shy away from physical contact."
Thurgau, Ritten and now Val Gardena
Until he was 20, Soracreppa played exclusively for the Fassa Falcons, where he quickly became a key player. In 2020, he finally moved to HC Thurgau in the Swiss second division. There, the 25-year-old made nearly 200 appearances in four seasons. Last summer, the defender signed with the Rittner Buam, where he recorded an impressive 16 points (six goals). Now the left-handed shooter, who will wear jersey number 6, is ready for his next chapter.HCG sports director Joel Brugnoli (right) with new signing Martin Castlunger.
The 31-year-old Castlunger also trained with the Falcons. He made his debut in what was then Serie A at just 16 years old. In the following years, he became a leading figure within the club, sporting the C for six seasons. In 2023, he made the leap to Asiago in the ICE Hockey League (ICEHL). He played 71 games for the Stellati before signing with Cortina last summer. Castlunger, who played one game for HCG in 2013, has chosen the number 93.
