Pustertal: The surprise man stays, a talent comes

HC Pustertal signed strikers number 12 and 13 on Wednesday. They were last season's promoted team and an up-and-coming talent.

Last season, Davide Conci received his second chance at HC Pustertal – after already playing for the Wolves between 2019 and 2021. The 29-year-old seized the opportunity. Step by step, he worked his way up the ranks under coach Jason Jaspers – until he was finally allowed to play on the power play. The winger repaid the trust with eight goals, as well as his tireless effort and his workload. Given this, a contract extension with the Black and Yellows was in the air.

"South Tyrol has become like a second home to me, which is why I feel very comfortable here and consider it a privilege to be able to play for HCP. Even though the level of the ICEHL certainly presented a challenge at first, I was able to adapt to it relatively quickly and enjoyed playing in front of the Puschtra fans and, for the most part, a full house," said Conci.

Zandegiacomo gets a chance

Another player who knows the area very well is Luciano Zandegiacomo. The striker, originally from Pieve di Cadore, played in the HCP youth system for five years before joining the Wipptal Broncos in 2023. The 21-year-old developed into a key player in Sterzing last season, as evidenced by his 29 points in 53 games. Zandegiacomo signed a two-way contract with the Wolves. This means he will likely continue to chase goals for the Wild Horses, but can be called up to the Pustertal Valley if necessary.

I hope I can learn a lot and make a positive contribution, but above all, I'm ready to get involved and take on new challenges.
