No Christmas party in the Bermuda Triangle
HCB Südtirol Alperia lost the last game before Christmas against the Vienna Capitals. Although the Foxes were in the lead before the last third, in the end it was not enough to gain points.

HC Bozen suffered a bitter and not entirely deserved defeat in Vienna on the 4th Sunday of Advent. Instead of celebrating in the Bermuda Triangle, the well-known trendy district at Vienna's Schwedenplatz, the Foxes had to return home without any points.
The league leaders from Bolzano were the better team for much of the game in Vienna-Kagran. However, the Foxes failed to capitalize on their superiority, particularly in the middle third. In the end, unnecessary penalties cost the Bolzano team the game. Despite everything, the HCB remains at the top of the table. Pursuer Fehervar was unable to capitalize on the slip-up because they themselves made a serious mistake against Olimpija Ljubljana.
The highlights
Cold shower | Bozen started dominant and fired a few shots, but it never became really dangerous. Instead, Vienna took a surprise lead after 26 minutes. Franklin initiated the action himself and scored after a pass from Predan to make it 1-0. |
video evidence | HCB striker Helewka scores to make it 1:1, but Antal and Salintri also end up in the net with the puck. The goal is checked using video. The result: Antal was to blame for the chaos, the goal counts (30th). |
game turned | A little later, Jasper was given a one-game suspension (he had pushed a referee), and Koschek had to go to the penalty box instead. Salintri took advantage of the power play and slammed the puck into the goal to give HCB the lead. Vienna goalie Peyton did not make the best impression (32'). |
Vienna Strikes Back | Another scene is reviewed on video, this time not in Bozen's favor. Christoffer is given a 2+2 penalty. The Capitals take advantage of the power play and equalize through Gregoire (42nd minute). But that's not all: Wallner even scores for Vienna to put them in the lead (49th minute). Bozen reacts angrily, but penalties rain down again and the Foxes have to finish the game even shorthanded. |
