With prominent newcomers: This is Italy's team

At the beginning of November, Italy's new coach Jukka Jalonen will coach his team for the first time at a tournament in Hungary. Several prominent newcomers will be there.

From November 4th to 10th, Italy's national team will play its first tournament under new coach Jukka Jalonen in Budapest (Hungary). The Azzurri will face Slovenia, Poland and the hosts from Hungary at the Tamás Sárközy Memorial Tournament. On Wednesday, Italy's association announced the squad for the tournament - and there were no shortage of surprises.

Mikael Frycklund will make his debut for Italy's national team. The 31-year-old Swede, who has been playing for HC Pustertal for two years, has an Italian mother and is therefore eligible to play for the Blue Team. But Frycklund is not the only well-known new signing. Julius Ramoser will also make his debut for Italy's national team. The Rittner has been playing for Wolfsburg in the DEL since this season.

A powerful team

It is clear that Italy will send a strong team into the race. Damian Clara, goalie in the highest Swedish league with Färjestad since this year, is there, as are Thomas Larkin, Alex Trivellato (both Schwenniger Wild Wings), Phil Pietroniro (Rytiri Kladno/Czech Republic), Tommaso De Luca and Diego Kostner (both Ambri Piotta/Switzerland). The three current best scorers in the ICE Hockey League will also be playing: Matteo Gennaro, Alexander Ierullo (both Asiago) and Alex Petan (HC Pustertal) all have 14 points.
