With captain Raphael Andergassen, Ivan Deluca, Matthias Mantinger and Tommy Purdeller, four South Tyrolean strikers are already in the HCP squad. Now two more are joining: As the Wolves announced on Friday, Fabian Gschliesser and Alan Lobis, who had a two-way contract last year, signed a new contract. Like Purdeller, Gschliesser from Sterzing and Lobis from Kaltern were born in 2004.
Fabian Gschliesser, son of Wipptal ice hockey legend Alexander Gschliesser, made his debut for the Wolves in 2023/24 and joined the Black and Yellows permanently last summer. The combative striker, who trained at the youth academy in Salzburg, made 46 appearances and scored two goals. In the final stages of the season, Gschliesser was loaned to the Wipptal Broncos, who stormed to the semifinals of the Alps Hockey League (AlpsHL).
Lobis also fixed at HCP
Alan Lobis is a completely different type of player: The 1,75-meter-tall striker has a keen eye for goal, which he demonstrated over the past two seasons with the Rittner Buam. He scored an incredible 103 points in 85 games, making him one of the most dangerous local strikers. Last season, he also made his debut for HCP in the ICE Hockey League (ICEHL). Now, the son of Matthias Lobis, who played for Ritten and Bolzano, as well as his hometown club Kaltern, and later served as president, is moving permanently to the green valley.Fabian Gschliesser stays with the Wolves. © Max Pattis
"The start of the season is getting closer and closer, and I can hardly wait to finally play in a packed arena again," says Gschliesser. "Let's make this season an unforgettable one!" Alan Lobis, on the other hand, says: "I completed my preseason training in Bruneck last year and immediately felt at home at HCP. A highlight was definitely the games I was able to play for the Wolves in the ICEHL. I'm all the more excited to be part of the team this year and to play in front of the fans at the Intercable Arena."
"We like the passion and energy Fabian brings to the lineup," emphasizes head coach Jason Jaspers. "For a player of his age, that's something very special, which is why we see great potential in him. Alan, on the other hand, did a great job with Ritten in the AlpsHL, leading the first line with two imports. He's very intelligent and has a good read of the game. I'm excited to work with both guys and support their development."
