Helmuth Mair prevailed against 214 runners who started from the center of Bronzolo at 3 p.m. on Saturday, ran to Vadena and Laives, and returned to Bronzolo after ten kilometers. On this sunny autumn afternoon, the athlete from SG Eisacktal Raiffeisen ASV crossed the finish line in 33:23.0 minutes, achieving the fourth-best time overall and an official time of 28:26.5 minutes. In the race in Bronzolo, each athlete's official time is calculated by multiplying their actual time by the age factor corresponding to their age. This marked the 55-year-old's first win of the AgeFactor Run in Bronzolo. "I'm very happy with how it went and how I ran from start to finish. The course is beautiful, and I really enjoyed the race," commented Mair, who finished second in 2021.
With an AgeFactor time of 28:57.2 minutes, Frowin Stecher took second place, repeating his result from the previous year, while Franco Torresani (Atletica Paratico Brescia/29:08.2), already winner of ten World Mountain Running Championships, took third place. The fastest runner on the route between Bronzolo, Pfatten, and Laives was Khalid Jbari (Athletic Club 96 Alperia), who completed the ten kilometers of the race in 32:16.8 minutes. This best time of the day earned him eleventh place overall. Lukas Engl (SSV Bruneck-Amateursportverein) and Andrea Dagostin (Athletic Club 96 Alperia) also finished very fast, finishing second and third, respectively.
Accalai's second victory in the women's category
In the women's race, the victory went to Paola Accalai, who returned to winning ways after her victory at the 2021 edition in Bronzolo. The Trentino athlete from the Stivo Running ASD club achieved an AgeFactor time of 35:03.9 minutes and completed the ten kilometers in 44:16.4 minutes. "After a two-year break, I started again in January, then there was another break, and now I'm happy to be back. I'm overjoyed about this day," Accalai said, beaming at the finish line.Mirka Lorenzani (ASC Laas Raiffeisen) took second place with an AgeFactor time of 35:15.4 minutes, while Sonja Tscholl of SG Eisacktal Raiffeisen ASV (35:29.6) took third place. A large group of amateur runners also participated in the event, taking on the challenge of the "Memorial Andrea Isoppo," the non-competitive five-kilometer run commemorating the inventor of the AgeFactor Run.
The overall winners of the Top7 running series are celebrated
On the occasion of the seventh and final leg of the Top7 running series, the awards ceremony for the entire series took place in the Branzoll Cultural Center. Selina Christandl (2064 points) and Khalid Jbari (2090 points) won the overall ranking. "The race was fast, my legs were great today. I maintained a very good pace until the end. I'm happy: goal achieved, Top7 won!" declared Christandl. "Today went well. I also won the Top7 for the third time in a row. I'm satisfied," were Jbari's words after the race. The runner from Taufers in Münstertal and the runner from Leifers achieved the most points in the ranking, which is based on the six best results of each athlete who participated in at least six of the seven races.Khalid Jbari and Selina Christandl. © Sportissimus

We are very pleased with how the day went: there were many registrations, everything went smoothly, and the weather cooperated too. Many thanks to the many volunteers, clubs, institutions, and sponsors who made it possible for us to organize such a popular event again this year," said the president of the racing circuit, Massimo Zago, who organized the AgeFactor Run together with the US Bronzolo organizing committee, at the end of the event.
