The 40-year-old Formula 1 superstar's British bulldog is in a coma at a veterinary clinic after suffering cardiac arrest. It was caused by pneumonia, as Hamilton wrote on Instagram.

Roscoe was sedated after being admitted, and his heart stopped. After doctors brought him back, he is now in a coma. "We don't know if he'll wake up from this," Hamilton explained. "We'll try to wake him up tomorrow."

“Frightening hours”

Three pictures he posted with the post at noon show him at the bedside of the approximately 12-year-old dog. He had previously posted a photo of Roscoe on Instagram and wrote: "It was a scary few hours."

The bulldog, who has long since gained fans in the Formula 1 paddock and beyond, has accompanied the seven-time world champion since 2013. "I'm by his side and want to thank you for your prayers and support," Hamilton wrote, addressing all fans: "Please think of Roscoe."

He apparently skipped a scheduled tire test with Pirelli, and the Chinese Ferrari reserve driver Guanyu Zhou stepped in at Mugello. The next Grand Prix is ​​scheduled for October 5th with the night race in Singapore.

Hamilton changed Roscoe's diet

Roscoe had already contracted pneumonia in the first half of the year. "Every time I get a message from the person caring for him, my heart stops," Hamilton said at the time.

In 2020, his second bulldog, named Coco, died at just six years old, presumably of a heart attack, as Hamilton himself explained at the time. The Instagram account "roscoelovescoco," which has existed since their time together, has over 1,3 million fans. Even the British Vogue dedicated an article to Hamilton and Roscoe this year.
