Double victory for the Márquez brothers in Aragon

For the second time, the Márquez brothers achieved a one-two victory in MotoGP on Saturday. World Championship leader Marc Márquez won the sprint in Aragon ahead of Alex Márquez.

Marc Márquez remains the benchmark of this MotoGP season. At the Grand Prix of Aragon, the World Championship leader prevailed in the sprint race on Saturday – despite a weak start. For Márquez, it was already his seventh victory in eight sprint races of the current season. He thus extended his lead in the overall standings to 27 points – ahead of his brother Alex, who also finished second in Aragon.

The eleven-lap race began with a lightning start from Alex Márquez, while Marc initially found himself in third place. But the Ducati factory rider quickly made up ground, closing in on his brother, and took the lead at Turn 1 on lap six – a position he held until the finish.

Behind the Márquez duo, Fermin Aldeguer secured third place. The Gresini rider beat Franco Morbidelli, who was initially on course for a podium finish but then lost positions. KTM rider Pedro Acosta finished fifth.

Bagnaia goes swimming

It was another disappointing day for Francesco Bagnaia. The Ducati rider finished fourth on the grid, but couldn't finish higher than twelfth, leaving him without any points – another indication of his ongoing form slump. Marco Bezzecchi, on the other hand, impressed with a strong comeback, fighting his way up from last place on the grid to eighth place.
