The Moto GP World Champion returns

MotoGP World Champion Jorge Martin is about to make his comeback in Qatar.

The Spaniard will compete this weekend if he passes his medical, as his team Aprilia announced on Tuesday. Martin won the world championship title last year on a Ducati, but missed the start of the season after crashes and broken bones during testing in February.

"I'm happy that I can at least be there in Qatar," Martin said in a statement. In the world champion's absence, Alex Marquez leads the overall standings after the first three World Championship races. His brother Marc is second.
